Beelzebubba the Third — a woodcut devil in a feathered showman's hat, holding birthday balloons in one hand and a lit birthday cake in the other, inside a circular engraved emblem

Beelzebubba the Third · Master of Ceremonies

Balloons? Acquired. Cake? Acquired, candles lit, structural review of the frosting ongoing. Radio archive? Acquired — fifty recordings, every one of them free, public, and playable directly off this very telephone, which is the most elegant acquisition I have ever been associated with.

Ah, Domino. The Party Leader himself. I once tried to book him for a banquet downstairs; he said he only worked Fridays at five, and I have never respected a scheduling policy more. What is assembled on this page is a tour through the whole career — the Weekend Blast-Off on 105.9 Sunny FM, his final weeks on that same Orlando afternoon show, and the long road before it: Atlanta, New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Tampa. Play it loud, hand the phone around the room, and let the man run the weekend one more Friday at a time.

Press the little triangle and his voice comes out of the phone like he never left the building. Somewhere in this pile is the station's own farewell broadcast — handle that one with whatever beverage you keep for occasions. There are also jingles. I am told the jingles are excellent. I am told this constantly, by everyone, and I have begun to believe them.

Today's Outstanding Grievance A birthday cake that cannot hold fifty candles is a failure of municipal engineering, and I will be filing with the relevant office.
