Beelzebubba the ThirdIllustration · Not Evidence

Beelzebubba the Third here, clerk of this desk, formerly of the listings desk, where at least we had the decency to lie about the square footage. I have processed a great many support cases and I can tell you at once that this one is unusually well documented: nine photographs, two transcripts, four serial numbers, and a brass component that broke exactly as thoroughly as a thing can break.

Here is the honest file. Photographs were requested, and photographs were supplied. Photographs were requested again by a second route, and photographs were again supplied. At one point customer service could see them on the ticket. Minutes later, after a transfer, a member of technical support could not find them anywhere at all. Nobody lost them. Pictures do not wander off; pictures are the most obedient objects in this entire arrangement, and they have now been transmitted more times than most appliances are installed.

I want three people named in this record, because the record should be accurate. Dakota asked for photographs. Nicholas asked for photographs, and said that once he had them he would attach them and move the matter up to management. Ricky asked for photographs, apologised, and offered to check with Nicholas. Not one of them has been cruel, and not one of them has been unreasonable. The difficulty is architectural. There is a drawer somewhere in the building and it is empty, and the drawer is not the problem. The drawer is only the shape the problem took.

Meanwhile the system sits where it was installed, open to the weather, holding a broken brass component that was photographed, labelled, and documented for a file which has been requesting photographs since the third of October. I have seen this exact paperwork before. The claim form is optimistic. The floor is bare.

Small illustrated solar panel character with a sad face, tiny arms and legs, and one tear on its cheek.

He only wanted to help. He collected sunlight all day for a couple of months and was asked, in the end, to be attached to something, and he took it personally, as one does.

The lower refrigerant connection at the outdoor unit physically separated after a brass connection component broke and snapped. The separated line and fitting, the broken brass component, the installed unit, and the equipment labels are all documented in the photographs published on this page.

No root cause is asserted here. This page documents what visibly happened and asks Signature Solar to determine the cause and the appropriate warranty or technical remedy. Nothing on this page should be read as a diagnosis.

Dates below are recorded only as they were reported. Where the underlying record does not establish an exact date, none is asserted here.

  1. October 3, 2026 · Reported

The customer reports this as the date of first contact with Signature Solar concerning the failed EG4 connection. The date comes from the customer's own later call statement.

  2. Dakota interaction · Date not established

Damage photographs and indoor and outdoor serial-number photographs were requested and, according to the customer, supplied.

  3. Follow-up · Nicholas Humphrey

The customer called after the support ticket appeared to have been created and then closed or completed without a visible resolution. Nicholas confirmed the required photographs and serial information, provided a route to resend it, and said that once received he would attach the photographs and move the matter up to management. The customer confirmed he would send everything.

  4. Later follow-up · Date not established

Customer service said it could see that Dakota and Nicholas had both worked the ticket and that photographs were visible. After transfer, another technical-support representative could not locate those same photographs and discussed sending them again. The customer asked that Nicholas be contacted and that a follow-up be provided.

  5. Current status

No resolution has been provided. This page is published as the documented record of the case and as the request for one.

Both calls are published in full so that the account can be checked against the record. Personal contact details, call identifiers, and installation address details have been withheld from this public page.

[Dialing Signature Solar]

Madison: Hello, thank you for calling Signature Solar. This is Madison speaking. How can I help you?

Edward: Hey, good afternoon. My name is Edward Heffernan. I submitted an email several days ago with an issue with my solar mini split. Someone named Dakota responded and asked me for a bunch of photos and serial numbers. I sent those, and I haven't heard anything since. I got an email saying that a support ticket was created, but there's nothing in there and now it says ticket status complete. I'm just wondering where I go from here.

Madison: I can see where your case has been created. We did integrate into a new system this week, so it has been kind of hectic. I apologize. I can get you someone who can pick up where Dakota left off.

[Transferred to Technical Support]

Nicholas: This is Signature Solar Technical Support. My name is Nicholas. How can I help you today?

Edward: I had an issue with my solar EG4. The brass fitting and the lower refrigerant hose just flat out snapped. I contacted Dakota M. She asked me to send pictures and serial numbers. I did, then got an email that a support ticket was opened and immediately closed. I'm wondering what's going on.

Nicholas: Give me one minute and I'll speak with Dakota and see where we're at.

[Later]

Nicholas: I want to confirm: I got pictures of the damage and a screenshot of the sale, but did you also send pictures of the serial numbers?

Edward: Yes, I did. Inside and outside units.

Nicholas: Perfect.

[Later]

Nicholas: There must have been some kind of mix-up because it's not showing up in his email. How about I send you an email and you forward it all to me? That way I can get this ticket rolling.

Edward: OK.

Nicholas explains Signature Solar is using a newer email system and offers another email route to make sure the photographs arrive.

Edward confirms he will attach everything and send it.

Nicholas confirms the installation address and says: “As soon as I get those photos, I'll go ahead and get it attached and moved up to management.”

Edward: Thank you very much and keep an eye out for the email.

Nicholas: Absolutely. Have a great rest of your day.

Call Transcript #2 · Signature Solar

Edward tells customer service he first contacted Signature Solar on October 3 regarding an EG4 unit. He says something on the unit snapped after a couple of months of operation. He previously worked with Dakota M., supplied photographs, later worked with Nicholas Humphrey and supplied photographs again, but had not received a resolution.

Madison: I can see where Dakota and Nicholas both have worked on this ticket, but I am not seeing an update after the last time y'all spoke on the 8th.

Edward asks whether Nicholas is available. Madison says Nicholas and Dakota are currently in calls.

Edward explains that he is concerned that transferring to a third person will result in sending all the photographs again.

Madison searches and says she can see the photographs that were added, so Edward should not need to resend them.

Edward: Even a simple email would be nice. I mean, it's just been completely silent.

Madison offers to ask Nicholas to reach out. Edward elects to also be transferred to technical support.

[Transferred to Ricky, Technical Support]

Edward again explains the lower refrigerant hose and brass fitting snapped, and that he sent photographs to both Dakota and Nicholas.

Ricky attempts to locate the case. Edward supplies his email and Order #257177.

Ricky asks whether photographs were sent by email.

Edward: Yes, I sent it to the email twice. I sent them to Dakota and I sent them to Nicholas. And the customer rep I first talked to when I called said she could see the photos.

Ricky searches but cannot find the photographs associated with Edward's email address and suggests sending them by text.

Edward: You want me to send the photos a third time? I'm willing to try.

Ricky apologizes and says he cannot see them.

Edward points out that Nicholas had supplied a personal email address for the photographs. Ricky says that would explain why he cannot see them. Ricky agrees to check with Nicholas when he returns and get back to Edward.

Edward asks for a follow-up email and notes the extended delay.

Ricky: I understand and I'm not trying to complicate the process at all. I don't mean to frustrate you, so I apologize. I will get with him and then I'll get back to you once I've got an answer on that.

To Signature Solar, regarding Order #257177 for the EG4 12,000 BTU-class solar mini-split identified above.

The customer respectfully requests that Signature Solar:

  1. Review the documented failure and the nine photographs published on this page, along with both call transcripts.
  2. Determine the cause of the separation of the lower refrigerant connection at the outdoor unit.
  3. Determine and apply the appropriate warranty or technical remedy for the unit and the separated connection.
  4. Provide the next steps, including scheduling, access requirements, and any documentation the customer should expect to provide.
  5. Provide a follow-up reply by email with a named point of contact for this case.
  6. Confirm a single durable location or route for the photographic evidence already supplied, so that it does not need to be transmitted repeatedly.

The customer has supplied the requested photographs on multiple occasions and is willing to cooperate with the process. The photographs, serial numbers, and this record are already published here and can be retrieved at any time.

Today's Outstanding Grievance

A brass fitting is not a lease. It does not expire, it does not get reassigned to another department, and it does not require a follow-up call to remember where it was left. It has exactly one obligation, and it has now missed it in front of a camera, twice, for the same photograph.
