Last of the loafing

Well, this is the last day of my vacation. I had big plans, but for the most part I squandered it. That's OK though, I had planned on it. Last time I had sat around my house for this length of time without actually going out and doing something was when i was looking for a job.
I had a fun time at the concert on Friday night. House of blues is a fun place, and there are always plenty of bartenders to keep my drink full. When we first arrived, Brandy headed down to the front of the stage and clawed in to the front barrier. She remained dug in there for the next three hours. I played the butler and went and fetched her a drink every now and then so that she would not have to leave her spot. Meanwhile I wandered around looking at the crowd, went upstairs and outside to the smoking lounge and just in general people watched. It was a pretty laid back crowd. There was no rude pushing and shoving, and the entire night I did not see any of the bouncers break up any kind of skirmishes.
It was about 20 degrees hotter down in front of the stage than it was upstairs. The sheer amount of body heat in that place was making my shirt stick to
my skin. At one point I had myself a hot dog. I was surprised it was such a sub-par hot dog. Usually downtown Disney is known for better. Must have been an outside vendor.
After the concert the crowd poured out of HOB in a big black-clad mob of hair dye and clove cigarettes. Brandy and I headed out to the parking lot. Out in front were a couple of big travel buses. "That's Peter's bus!" Brandy declared. "How do you know?" I demanded, skeptically. "Because, those are Rock Star buses" she replied with the simplistic tones of someone who spends much of their days conversing with a three year old. I found I could not disagree.
We had nowhere better to go so we sat on the concrete and chatted for a while. Sure enough after a while the band members came walking out to their bus. I swear the lead singer looked like he should be in a wheelchair. Brandy floated up and made a wild stagger towards them. I stayed sitting down. It's once thing for a cute girl to go running up to a bad, if a 6 foot tall drunken oaf went running towards them the security guard would have probably broken out his taser.
Earlier Brandy has said that if she touched Peter, she would have peed her pants. When she got back from meeting them she was uttering out 'ZOMG!' over and over and had to stop and bend over every few moments. I was truly alarmed that she was actually going to pee her pants. I
started thinking of what I was going to put down on my car seat so that my new glow-in-the-dark skull seat cover would not get urine stains. However, she managed to keep it inside of her.
We crashed at a hotel I had found earlier that day. I knew that after the drinking I was going to do that I did not want to spend an hour driving back on I4 at one in the morning with god knows how many drunks. So I went to Hotels.com and found the cheapest hotel next to House of Blues. It was a whopping 40 dollars a night. Compared to the 100 dollar range of the other hotels, I was amazed. The reviews online made me chuckle.
The hotel room was actually not THAT bad. I have stayed in worse. Heck, my own bathroom is worse. Yes, there was old stains on the floor, yes there was a dead bug in the sink, however I did not see or smell any mildew, and the blankets seemed to be ok. (Although, I have to admit that I had a garbage bag stuffed with my own blankets I had brought from home)
That night I had a weird dream that the hotel room suddenly became overflowing with cockroaches. It was like from 'creepshow'. In the dream I had called hotels.com and complained. They set me up with a new hotel down the road. However, the owner of the hotel found out. She was a short fat woman wearing a stained green MuMu. She was so angry that she ran over and began belly-bumping me. Her stomach was hard as a rock, and I realized she wa
s actually hitting me with a giant tumor that was under her MuMu.
The next morning we went and checked out the breakfast buffet. The resturaunt inside the hotel was about a thousand times nicer than the actual rooms. The breakfast buffet was only six bucks, and for the most part was pretty good. However, the eggs had a faint fishy taste to it. Like someone had made them in a pan that they had just fried some fish up in. There was nothing wrong with the bacon, however. I happily piled it up on my plate.
Yesterday I just sorta flopped around the house. I was tired and achy and kept falling asleep. I am not sure where it came from, but I just went with the flow. The entire day just drifted by pretty fast. It was a wasted day, but it was mine to waste.
Today I am going to house clean. I have a week of loafing that needs to be scrubbed away.
Then it's back to work for me. Sigh.
